EXPERIENCE
2021- NBC NEWS
On Assignment with Richard Engel
Most recently, I've undertaken a fellowship on MSNBC's flagship foreign news programme. My time at On Assignment has given me an opportunity to learn hands-on how long-form news and current affairs gets made. I've sourced exclusive footage, conducted visual investigations and compiled background briefs. I've transcribed interviews, fact-checked scripts and most notably, helped double our social impressions on a recent pre-air social media rollout, as well as phasing in closed captioning.
2019/20 - CARDIFF JOMEC
After leaving university, I was thrilled to be accepted as a journalism trainee on one of the UK's leading broadcast journalism courses. In that time, I've been mentored by industry professionals, put together TV packages as a reporter and full programs as a producer. I've interviewed everyone from national politicians to crusading pet shop workers. It was a brilliant year at the 'college of knowledge'; the first step, I hope, of many.
2019 - SKY NEWS
I live-blogged from a count during the 2019 election as a stringer for Sky News, reporting developments from the count on Twitter and delivering the result ahead of our competitors.
2015 - WALESONLINE
I got my first taste of real-world journalism as a Community Reporter mentored by MediaTrust Wales. After my training I pitched and produced three articles for the platform, one of which ended up on the homepage with 700 shares.
